Why did my file barely shrink?
Text-only PDFs are already small and well packed. Compression helps most when a file is mostly photographs or scans.
Will the text still be searchable?
No. This method rebuilds each page as an image, which removes the text layer. If you need searchable text, keep the original and compress a copy.
What quality should I pick?
Start at 60. Drop toward 40 if you need to hit a hard upload limit, and go above 75 if the document has fine detail.
